The Buddha comes to the Eastern Bamboo Park, where Anuruddha and two other monastics, Nandiya and Kimbila, are living; the park keeper at first bars the Buddha from entering, but Anuruddha recognizes the Buddha and comes forward to welcome him. The three tell the Buddha that they treat one another with loving-kindness in body, speech and mind, so that though their bodies are different their minds are as one; whoever returns first from the alms round prepares the seats and fetches water, whoever returns last clears away, and every five days they spend the whole night together discussing the Dhamma. The Buddha praises their harmonious living. Taishō Canon
