Both the table of rains retreats in the later commentaries and the Chinese Sengqieluocha suoji jing record the Buddha's 15th at Kapilavatthu. Neither record says what happened during this retreat.
Different Accounts
Forms of the place name: Kapilavatthu, the great city of Kapilavatthu, the Sakyan village in the country of Kapilavatthu; the later Pali Buddha biographies have the Banyan Park (the park outside the city of Kapilavatthu).
More differences between accounts (2)
The Chinese Sengqieluocha suoji jing also records Year 16 in the country of Kapilavatthu, which amounts to two successive retreats in the home town; the table of rains retreats of the Southern tradition has Year 16 at Āḷavī. Taishō Canon
Another later commentary of the Southern tradition says the Buddha kept the rains retreat in the Banyan Park only once, differing from the two retreats of the Sengqieluocha suoji jing.
Dating
Year 15 after the Awakening, the Buddha aged forty-nine, during the rains retreat; the year is given by the later commentaries, and only the year is known.
