The later commentaries say that after the 20th the Buddha makes two places his fixed residences, the Jetavana and the Eastern Park (Migāramātā's Mansion, built by the lady Visākhā) at Sāvatthī; all later rains retreats are at Sāvatthī, except the final year at Beluva village. From Year 21 to Year 45 after the Awakening the texts mostly record no year, so the place of the retreat is no longer recorded year by year.
Different Accounts
The Chinese Sengqieluocha suoji jing says that in Year 21 the Buddha returned to Mount Zheli and kept four successive rains retreats in the . Taishō Canon
More differences between accounts (2)
How the Buddha divided his time between the two places at Sāvatthī is told in several ways by the later commentaries: alternating one place each year, going back and forth between the two by day and by night, or nineteen years at the Jetavana and six at the Eastern Park.
Another commentary of the Southern tradition says the Buddha then resided permanently at Sāvatthī for twenty-five years.
Dating
Year 20 after the Awakening, the Buddha aged fifty-four, at the end of the 20th rains retreat; given by the later commentaries, and only the year is known.
