Year 14 after the Awakening

This year the Buddha is forty-eight (reckoned from an awakening at thirty-five). According to the table of rains retreats given in the later commentaries, the Buddha keeps the rains retreat this year at the Jetavana at Sāvatthī, the first retreat at the Jetavana in the table; no source records what happened during the retreat. Neither the canonical texts nor the later commentaries place any event explicitly in this year; this year also includes Rāhula receiving full ordination and attaining arahantship, whose year is worked out from Rāhula's age and only possibly falls in this year.
