The Buddha at 29 to 35

This section covers the six years of the Bodhisatta's quest after his going forth: he studies in turn under two teachers of meditation, judges that neither path leads to final liberation, and leaves; he then comes to Uruvelā in Magadha and practises austerities alone by the Nerañjarā river, attended by five ascetics. These events are known only to fall between the ages of twenty-nine and thirty-five, and none can be assigned to a particular year.
